You've been scrolling wedding photographer websites for a while now, and they're all starting to blur together. The muted, low-contrast galleries. The stiff formal portraits. The 'five hours of coverage starting at...' packages that tell you nothing about who this person actually is or what it would feel like to spend your entire wedding day with them.
I photograph weddings the same way I live my life, with full honesty, complete presence, and a deep commitment to making sure the people I work with feel genuinely taken care of. My couples are kind, real, a little bit goofy, deeply in love, and usually relieved to discover that getting their photo taken with me is actually... fun.
I photograph weddings and portraits for adventure seekers in Seattle, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. I specialize in colorful, intentional celebrations filled with emotion, personality, and meaning.
SO...
Then you’re in the right place.
If you care more about who’s in the room than how much you spent on florals.
If you want your guests to have an unforgettable experience.
If you believe your wedding should actually look like you.
Hi, I’m alex! A seattle wedding photographer who’s been documenting your stories since 2009.
I fell in love with photography almost 20 years ago in a darkroom class, and that love has never faded. What started as a darkroom class in college turned into photographing my first wedding solo in 2010,and I was hooked. The joy. The emotion. The vows. The details. The people.
I realized quickly that my fulfillment came from helping people see themselves in a beautiful, honest way. I move calmly. I guide confidently. I know how to capture all the angles and candid moments without you even noticing. My couples often say I have “photo superpowers” because of how much I capture while still keeping everything feeling easy and low-pressure.

It doesn’t get much prettier and intimate than reading private vows with your partner by one of the ponds at Seattle’s Kubota Gardens, a perfect park for elopements and micro weddings. For Erika and Alex, this park holds special meaning. Alex’s grandfather was one of the designers of this gorgeous park in South Seattle. Alex […]

As the years have gone by, family portrait photography has gradually become more of my business. Many of the couples I photograph become parents and invite me back into their lives to photograph their newest additions. Being a parent myself now, and getting to know these new babies, has rekindled a love of family photography […]

More mornings like this one, please. Kandis & Kim reached out to me before their recent trip to Washington state asking for a gorgeous spot for outdoor engagement photos that would encompass the best of the best in the Pacific Northwest. Look no further than Gold Creek Pond at Snoqualmie Pass! Especially at sunrise, this […]

She was so thorough every time we talked to her and provided a ton of advice on the small details leading up to the wedding. She communicated her role and process so clearly that we felt no stress on the wedding day for anything that she was involved in. Beyond the relief and trust we felt with her, we are so happy with how the photos turned out! Neither my husband or I particularly like taking photos, but she made us both feel comfortable. It felt more like a friend taking our photos but the quality and end result blew us away. They were better than I could have imagined.
We will be recommending Alex to any of our friends getting married - she is so wonderful to work with in every way!

We absolutely love the beautiful and authentic photos that Alex took on our wedding day, and we’ve had so many compliments about her as our photographer from our loved ones—not only for how the photos turned out, but for what a delight she was to be around on our wedding day and for how organized she was at every moment. Even in corralling our guests to take a group photo, which is no small feat, Alex struck the perfect balance of effectively leading the game plan while also being friendly, personable and fun. We can't believe how she managed to capture so many different moments and angles throughout the day—she has photography superpowers!

Most importantly, the photos she took are wonderful. I got every image I could have wanted and more that I didn't know I wanted. But also, she was just a dream to work with.
She is kind and thoughtful, helpful and all in all just a really great human being. I'm so glad we chose her and I can't wait to work with her again in the future.
